Magical Reflections #Juan Tamariz · 04/09
Farewell, Maestro Tamariz.
We’ve resumed work after the summer, and although a few days have already passed…
I couldn’t do so without dedicating a few words to Juan.
We said goodbye to Juan with great sadness.
The world of magic is in mourning.
But we also have the certainty that his legacy will continue to illuminate us for many years to come.
Juan and I knew each other personally.
We weren’t close friends, but over the years we shared many hours, many conversations, and many moments around magic.
We always got along very well.
And Juan gave me so much.
He taught me.
He inspired me.
He made me enjoy magic.
And, above all, he always treated me extraordinarily well.
Sometimes even better than I felt I deserved.
I never quite understood why.
Perhaps that was one of the many things that made Juan so special.
He had a way of relating to you that made you feel comfortable, listened to, and, in some way, important.
For all of this, I will be eternally grateful to him.
Today, I want to send my deepest condolences to his entire family.
To everyone who was fortunate enough to have him close.
And to all the magicians who, in one way or another, have received something from him.
Because Juan leaves behind more than memories.
He leaves behind a way of understanding magic.
A way of understanding an audience.
A way of understanding the magician himself.
And that will never disappear.
Thank you for everything, Don Juan Tamariz.
Your legacy lives on.
